The 2016 Paralympic Games officially kicked off in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. This is the moment that we have been waiting for. From now until September 18th, we will all get to see the world’s best athletes represent their countries in a variety of paralympic events.
The Big Opening
The games officially kicked off on September 7th with an incredible firework-laced stunt by 24-year-old Aaron “Wheelz” Fotheringham, a native of Las Vegas, Nevada. The WCMX wheelchair master took off down a six-story high ramp in a bright green wheelchair, fireworks shooting out on both sides of the ramp, and launched into a full somersault through a large ring.

We Hope You All Watch and Enjoy the Events
If you haven’t ever taken the time to watch the paralympics, we hope that you do so this year. It’s an amazing event that deserves the world’s respect, support and so much more.
Here’s to hoping that we will one day be able see wheelchair van racing as a paralympic sport!
