At Rollx Vans, we build accessible vehicles from the ground up.
Getting the Job Done Right
We do not just sell accessible vans. We custom build our wheelchair access vans from start to finish. Each of our customers can choose to pick a vehicle with a completed conversion from our inventory or send us their vehicle to convert. All of our conversions are done in-house at our very own headquarters using only the most state-of-the-art handicap van conversion processes. And, as soon as you sign on the dotted line, we get right to work creating a custom vehicle that is unlike any other handicapped vehicles on the market. That is because each and every one of our disability vehicles for sale is completely custom to the person or people who will be driving it.
Not sure if you are ready to make a purchase, but looking to learn more about us and our process? Take a look at our step-by-step conversion process below, then let us know if you have any questions. We would be more than happy to answer them, so you can get a better idea of what it takes to get a custom wheelchair van created from the ground up.
Step 1
Once a customer selects their wheelchair access van, the van doors, windows, and body panels are wrapped to make sure they are protected during the process. Then, the handicapped vehicle’s interior is disassembled and placed into protective carts while the van goes through the assembly line. This includes the removal of the seats and carpeting.
Step 2
Next, the underbody, tires, gas tank, and floor of the van are removed. These will be moved to another location or replaced later in the process. At this point, all that remains intact of the van’s center section is the main structure of the vehicle. Then, the chassis is reinforced to make sure everything stays together while the disability vehicles for sale are being customized.
Step 3
Once the interior is completely disassembled and reinforced, it can begin to be put together again. A new, stainless steel underpan lowered floor assembly is welded into place. This underpan is designed to safeguard against rust to help ensure our handicapped vehicles last as long as possible without issue. You can learn more about our stainless steel underpan in the video series below.
Step 4
The next step is the new door tracks are cut out, fabricated to fit, and welded into place. All welds for the floor and door tracks are then inspected on all customized disability vehicles for sale to ensure they meet the highest safety and quality standards.
This is our first of many safety inspections throughout the wheelchair van sales customization process. Each of these safety inspections backed by our commitment to safety that we hold an ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Certification for. You can learn more about this certification in the video series below.
Step 5
The van then goes through a seam, seal, and undercoating process. We add underbody sound shields, rubberized undercoating, double door seals, and other features. The rubberized rust proofing process helps prevent rust from forming on the undercarriage and also helps to create a sound deadening barrier for a quieter ride for the handicapped vehicle’s driver and passengers. This helps create our exclusive Ultra Quiet Interior. This step is followed by the lowered interior receiving a fresh coat of paint.
Step 6
During this next step of the wheelchair van sales conversion process, the gas tank is moved and installed in the back of the van. A crash barrier is created around the gas tank for added vehicle safety and the rear suspension is re-installed. You can learn more about the added safety of our gas tank crash barrier in the video series below.
Step 7
The OEM wiring is modified in accordance with manufacturer specifications and the Rollx Vans wire harness is installed. This additional wiring controls the sequence of operation involved with the disability vehicles for sale lowering with the use of the kneeling chain and the in-floor ramp or full-size van lift coming out.
Step 8
The next steps all involve putting key features back into place. A new custom stainless steel exhaust system is installed. The sliding doors are then modified through a fit process and installed. Custom rear heat and A/C lines are installed. The ground effects that cover the changes made to the handicapped vehicles are added.
Step 9
A series of important safety and quality inspections then occur, including the checking of all critical components and a functional test. These tests ensure each and every one of our disability vehicles for sale meets or exceeds Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS). Essentially, we ensure that all of the custom vehicles we create for wheelchair users are the safest in the industry. You can learn more about our safety standards below.
Step 10
The ground effects are then painted to match the exterior of the van, and the carpet pad and carpet are put into place. Rollx Vans custom designed interior panels are added and then the ramp, kneeler, and floor components are installed to complete the wheelchair van sales and conversion process.
Step 11
Prior to leaving our warehouse a quality control inspection, alignment, and full detailing of the van are completed to make sure your wheelchair accessible van meets all the requirements and standards we set for all of our vehicles.
At Rollx Vans, we do not just sell wheelchair vans. We build them from the ground up. All Rollx Vans conversions come backed with the industry’s longest 7 year/100,000 miles structural warranty. That is how much we believe in our process, our product and the satisfaction of our customers.
