Researchers are striving to come up with better treatments and cures for the diseases that our customers are all too familiar with. But, research is incredibly costly and cannot be done without the support of organizations, like our partners and the fundraising they do on behalf of the research efforts.
Since this is so important to our community, our team at Rollx Vans makes it part of our mission to support these organizations and their efforts. One of these organizations is the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, and this weekend they’re hosting a Walk MS event, right here in our own backyard (well, not literally our backyard, but close enough).
Walk MS: Christopher & Banks Twin Cities Walk 2016
On Sunday May 1st, the Minneapolis and St. Paul communities will come together to raise awareness for MS and raise funds that will help end MS for good.
The event is taking place at Minnehaha Park in Minneapolis, and up to 4,000 participants are expected to be in attendance. Parking is available in the VA Medical Center lot, and shuttles will be circulating throughout the day.
The lineup will begin at 7:30am, with check-ins beginning at 8am and continuing until 10am. Upon checking-in, participants may choose between a 1.5 mile or 6.5 mile route and begin walking (and rolling) to support the cause!
The last shuttle will leave the park at 1pm, so they ask that participants requiring a shuttle complete their walk prior to that time.
Supporting the Cause
Participants will benefit from doughnuts, fruit and coffee being served at 8am, as well as massages, face painting, and various vendors offering activities and giveaways. All participants will get a Walk MS sticker, and those raising more than $125 will also get a Walk MS t-shirt.
Our team at Rollx Vans is excited to be participating in this event once again. As in years past our team will be shuttling participants in our wheelchair vans, making the event accessible for everyone!
Hop on Board and Join the Fight!
In years past, this one event has raised nearly $2 million dollars per year that goes directly towards supporting those currently affected by MS and the research that could find a cure.
Will you be joining our team in supporting this amazing event this weekend? We hope to see you there!
