Why Is ISO 9001 The World Leader In Quality Standards?
Rollx Vans has maintained its standing as a safe, convenient, and trusted brand for mobility vehicles for more than four decades. There’s a lot that goes into making sure that everything we do meets and exceeds the needs of our customers. One of the core pieces of this puzzle is our standard for quality, which is one of the most rigorous in the world: ISO 9001.
What is ISO?
The International Organization for Standardization, or ISO, is a world leader in setting quality standards across a litany of industries. This non-governmental organization is based out of Geneva, Switzerland, and has been in operation for more than 75 years. The ISO sprang from a 1946 meeting of international delegates that resulted in the establishment of 67 technical committees of experts.
The objective of the ISO is to protect consumers by regulating the quality of goods and services. Its reach expands globally — to date, 90 countries have adopted the latest ISO set of standards at a national level. In the United States, ISO works with organizations up to and including the Department of Defense, NASA, and Food and Drug Administration. In addition, nearly a quarter-million private organizations across multiple industries use ISO 9000 standards as a guideline for quality management.
After three-quarters of a century, the ISO has grown into a force for excellence in the world. In total, there are nearly 25,000 different standards in place, and the organization contains 809 committees and subcommittees focused on the continued development and refinement of standards.
In 2021 alone, ISO published 1,619 standards. ISO is particularly integral to the transportation industry — of the published deliverables put forth by ISO last year, 16.6% were related to transport.
There are five totals in the ISO quality assurance system: quality, safety, reliability, environmental friendliness, and efficiency. Abiding by all five of these metrics ensures that ISO standards are the most thorough of any measuring quality.
ISO standards carry unique numbers to signal their focus. Health and safety standards, which regulate workplace safety among other things, fall under ISO 45001. Standards for food safety management fall under ISO 22000. And standards for product and service quality, which we use at Rollx Vans to ensure customer satisfaction, qualify under ISO 9001.
What is ISO 9001?
The ISO 9000 family is the benchmark for measuring and managing quality for companies and organizations. ISO dubs the 9000 set of standards as its “International Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval.” If a product or service is quality controlled by an ISO 9000 standard, it’s as good as a promise that what you’re buying will live up to expectations of excellence.
ISO 9001 is hailed as the most comprehensive of all the 9000 family standards. It applies to businesses and companies of all sizes and to aspects including the development, production, and servicing of products. It’s used by more than a million companies and organizations in more than 170 countries.
ISO 9001 is not a monolith set in stone. Because industries change so rapidly, this quality assurance standard often undergoes reassessments to make sure that it’s still broadly applicable and accurate. Just last year, ISO 9001 passed its “warrant of fitness,” a review that takes place every five years. The last time that ISO 9001 received a revision was in 2015 — that’s why you’ll often see this standard presented as ISO 9001:2015.
Why Rollx Vans Uses ISO 9001
Rollx Vans prefers the ISO 9001 standard to other alternatives used in our industry because it’s stricter and more comprehensive. When we’re providing customers with safe, reliable transportation that will last them for years and miles to come, we refuse to cut corners. Other standards simply don’t cover as many important aspects of our products and services as ISO 9001.
ISO 9001:2015 and other industry standards all cover certain common points. They ensure that products meet SAE standards, comply with OEM and National Highway Traffic Administration guidelines, and are backed by warranty and 24/7 service options.
ISO 9001:2015 differs from the competition on a few key fronts. ISO 9001 requires the certification of all employees, encourages customer satisfaction feedback, and ensures greater quality assurance with corrective and preventative measures as well as internal reviews and audits of a business and its processes. These additional measures of quality assurance help guarantee a better product and more transparency.
Because we work within the parameters of ISO 9001, you can be confident that every part of your experience with Rollx Vans will be one focused on your complete satisfaction. From the online shopping process to customization to continued service and maintenance, Rollx Vans is fully and completely committed to quality.
